Some 318 Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) undergraduates participated in a Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to mark the university’s 12th Hafl Al-Takharruj (convocation). Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour at the event held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam mosque.
The event began with the recitation of Al-Fatihah followed by participants reading from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah An-Naas.
This was followed by the recitation of Takhtim by the undergraduates and the reading of Doa Khatam followed by Dikir Marhaban and Doa Kesyukuran held in conjunction with the convocation ceremony.
UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal; Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad; Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin; and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman were present.
