Red Crescent receives bus in efforts to curb COVID-19

Progresif partnered with Takaful Brunei Sdn Bhd and GHK Motors Sdn Bhd to support Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent (BRC) as part of the collaborative efforts to exhibit national unity and support to the Ministry of Health (MoH) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Progresif donated a bus while Takaful Brunei Sdn Bhd provided insurance coverage, and GHK Motors Sdn Bhd covered all maintenance and service. The contribution stemmed from observations that there was a need for transporting patients, volunteers and other logistical purposes during the height of infections in Brunei.

The bus will be used as non-emergency transportation services for senior citizens, underprivileged families, differently-abled people, migrant workers and the public.

The handover ceremony was held at theProgresif Headquarters on April 1.

BRC President Haji Mohd Suhaimi bin Haji Ibrahim, BRC Deputy President (Policy and Finance) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yussof bin Pengiran Haji Bahar and BRC Secretary-General Sheikh Kadir Abdullah received the bus. Takaful Brunei Sdn Bhd Corporate Marketing Professional Executive Mohd Denny Azriman bin Haji Madni and GHK Motors Sdn Bhd General Manager Au Thien Kiong witnessed the ceremony.

Progresif Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Mohd Jaafar said the aid was part of the telecommunication company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Haji Mohd Suhaimi said, “The BRC thanks Progresif for its contribution and support to the association in assisting the MoH in curbing the spread of COVID-19. With this aid, BRC can provide more services to the public.”

The BRC president presented Hajah Nurul Haniah with a Friend of BRC Award in recognition of Progresif’s contributions.
