Achievements acknowledged
Jerudong Primary School (SRJ) recently held an awards ceremony to acknowledge the achievements of its students. The event honoured top performers from pre-school to Year 5, as well as 12 students who excelled in the Primary School Assessment (PSR) examination for 2024.
The awards ceremony recognised a wide range of achievements, including model students of Year 6A; 100 per cent attendance; colouring programme; science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math awards; art appreciation; national level art competition; myON video competition; and myON reading competition.
Additionally, three students were honoured for passing the entrance examination to Arabic schools.
Trip down memory lane
Kindergarteners from Sekolah Taman Asuhan Pertiwi in Mabohai took a trip down memory lane, donning colourful 1960s attire and performing a popular song and dance from that era.
Representing their classmates, Nur Hainah Al-Mu’izzah binti Mohamad Najib of KG3 Green and Muhd Aqil Rafiuddin bin Azizul Hazwan of KG2 Kuning expressed gratitude to their parents and teachers in both Malay and English languages.
Pertiwi Association President Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohd Yusof, the guest of honour, presented awards to the top-performing kindergarteners of 2024.
The end-of-year award ceremony was attended by parents, Pertiwi Association committee members and the board of governors.
Celebrations, donation
Bakti Dewa School held its annual graduation ceremony recently at the International Convention Centre.
The event honoured the achievements of KG3 and Year 6 students from its Jerudong, Berakas and Tutong branches.
In addition to celebrating the graduates, the ceremony recognised the top achievers from all levels and honoured students with exceptional progress in the Special Education Needs unit.
The Bakti Dewa School community also donated BND1,680 to Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) .
Insurans Islam Taib General Takaful Head of Sales Administration Hajah Rozana binti Haji Maidin was the guest of honour.
KACA Managing Director Haji Awang Abdul Alim bin Haji Awang Othman and Bakti Dewa School founder Pengiran Hajjah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad were also present.
Variety of awards presented
Rimba 1 Primary School recently held an award ceremony to celebrate the achievements of students from Year 1 to Year 5.
A variety of awards were presented, including excellence awards for Year 1 to Year 5 students; ‘Progressive SEN’ award; excellence awards for Islamic Studies (Year 1 to Year 5); appreciation certificates for religious activity participation; encouragement prize for prospective Arabic School students; and best attendance award.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a speech from the school’s headmaster Mohd Azmi bin Haji Mohd Yakup.
A traditional dance performance, Jong Jong Inai by the students added to the festive atmosphere.
Embrace exciting journey ahead, students told
St George’s School held its annual graduation ceremony for KG3, Year 6 and Year 11 students at the International Convention Centre yesterday.
Principal Janidi Jingan in a welcoming address commended the graduating students for their resilience and achievements throughout their time at St George’s. He acknowledged the challenges and triumphs they had faced and encouraged them to embrace the exciting journey ahead.
The event was an occasion to honour the hard work, dedication and bright future of the graduating class. Students from all levels performed dance numbers adding to the festive atmosphere. The ceremony’s highlight was the procession of the graduating students to receive the certificates.
The event concluded with speeches from head boys and girls as well as representatives from KG3. The ceremony ended with a song performance by the graduates.
Arts and cultural competitions
Talented students from across Brunei were celebrated at a prize presentation ceremony organised by the Arts and Creativity Division, Department of Co-Curriculum Education. The event, held yesterday at Tungku Primary School, recognised outstanding achievements in various arts and cultural competitions throughout the year.
Seri Mulia Sarjana School emerged as the champion in the Primary School Patriotic Song Choir Competition while Dato Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Primary School secured victory in the Primary School Bermukun Competition. Raja Isteri Girls High School claimed the top spot in the Gulintangan Competition for secondary schools, colleges and sixth form centres.
Asrol bin Purot from Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre was recognised for his achievements at the 25th International High School Arts Festival.
Director of Co-Curriculum Education Julaihi bin Haji Mohamad/Mohamat officiated the ceremony and presented awards to the winners. The ceremony began with a slideshow showcasing the winners’ accomplishments, followed by the prize presentations.
The competitions aim to inspire students to explore their artistic talents and appreciate Brunei’s rich cultural heritage. By participating in these activities, students are encouraged to embrace the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) philosophy and strengthen their sense of national identity. – Fadley Faisal
