Ramadhan generosity continues

Hua Ho Department Store

Hua Ho Department Store hosted a Majlis Berbuka Puasa, Tahlil and a donation presentation at Sutra Hall, The Rizqun International Hotel with Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad as the guest of honour.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Lau How Teck, Lau Soon Hau from the Hua Ho Department Store and government officials were also present. The event commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Tahlil.

The event was aimed at fostering community spirit and extending a helping hand to those in need during the holy month of Ramadhan. – James Kon

Embassy of China

The Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) yesterday received a BND18,000 contribution handed over by the Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam.

Ambassador of China to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo handed over the contribution to Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak in her capacity as Acting Chief Executive Officer of DANA at a ceremony at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Centre of Islamic Calligraphy and Arts, Jalan Jerambak.

The Yayasan serves as the secretariat for DANA and acts as a platform to enhance the well-being of the orphans in the country. – Rokiah Mahmud

Concept Group of Companies

Concept Group of Companies hosted over 80 guests including staff, family members and friends for an iftar get-together at a ceremony at Starlodge Hotel.

Concept Group of Companies General Manager Vincent Pao and spouse Alice Chan welcomed guests.

The annual programme aimed to strengthen ties and to celebrate the month of Ramadhan. Vincent said that nearly 100 per cent of their staff comprise local Muslims. He said this is the reason an iftar ceremony is held every Ramadhan.

GoMamam

GoMamam with support from Persatuan Pendidikan Khas (FITRAH) held a Ramadhan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide aid to over five students from Kampong Ayer schools.

The assistance included food necessities, school essentials, daily essentials, refrigerators and eyeglasses.

“We are deeply committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need, especially during this time of reflection and compassion. We appreciate FITRAH’s support in assisting us to help contribute to the students in need and ensuring that families in Kampong Ayer are also supported,” said GoMamam co-founder and Chief Financial Officer Hadi Adanan.

GoMamam Chief Operating Officer Amin Rambli remarked; “Raising awareness on special needs within the community is a part of our social responsibility.” He said there are various forms of assistance that can be provided to children with special abilities and also enhance their inclusivity and better accessibility in schooling.
