The Souq Al-Qudwah 3.0 exhibition opened yesterday at OneCity Shopping Centre in Kampong Sungai Hanching, which according to Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, aims to raise awareness on products and services offered by asnaf entrepreneurs and encourage financial welfare recipients to venture into “Muslimpreneurship”.
Organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through its PDI, the four-day event is held in collaboration with the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) and strategic partners – Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Qalam Academy.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarh Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman launched the event.
BIBD Head of Government Relations and Special Project Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah said that the third edition of the exhibition displays the unified effort between the MoRA, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
He shared that Muallafpreneurs Consortium was set up in 2019, comprising 20 businesses and 60 members.
The recipe for success, he added, is the combination of individuals with the spirit and desire to continuously seek betterment and an organised and holistic support system in improving the capabilities of Muslimpreneurs.
Yesterday’s event also saw the presentation of a book, Bimbingan Asas Fardhu Ain, from BIBD.
With the theme centred on empowering Muslimpreneurs, the event also features competitions for public participation, such as jawi writing and reading, Sayyidul Istighfar recitation, memorisation of surah and khat writing.
