Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah said the COVID-19 press conference has been a government effort to brief the public on the latest developments of the pandemic since the first case in March 2020.
The press conference will now be held only when needed and certain COVID-19 information will continue to be disseminated through the media.
Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew added the presence of ministers helped to answer queries on health, economy, social, education and Internet and connectivity that are of importance to public issues.
The minister added that the nation has been successful in curbing the spread of COVID-19 thanks to the cooperation from the public, and volunteers, who assisted the government in distributing food rations, among others.
He added that in thepost COVID era, the government and private sector will strive to support the country’s diversification efforts.
Meanwhile, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said the use of face mask is encouraged and advised the vulnerable group to ensure they are up-to-date with the vaccination and consult a doctor should they exhibit any COVID-19 symptom.
