COVID-19 cases trending downwards

Brunei Darussalam’s covid-19 cases continued to record a declining trend with the average daily rate last week at 88 cases per day compared to 108 cases per day in the previous week.

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, at the press conference.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah were also present.

A total of 29,869 antigen rapid test (ART) results were uploaded to the BruHealth app of which two per cent were positive for COVID-19.

The minister shared that a total of 82 new cases were reported yesterday though no cases in Category 4 or 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit, respiratory assistance or close supervision.

As of February 12, 79.1 per cent of the population had received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine while 11.9 per cent had four doses.
