The post-marriage course, themed Iman Di Karihi, Keluarga Harmoni introduced in 2012, has received an encouraging response, course committee Co-Secretary Muhd Hanif bin Haji Sha’ari said.

He said the course introduced in all four districts in 2012 is back in physical classes after it was conducted on the virtual platform last year.

The post-marriage course is conducted by the Family Counselling Services Division, Syariah Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The participants comprised couples married for over three years.

Muhd Hanif said the course’s objectives are to strengthen the understanding of Islamic family institutions in the community, raising awareness of the rights and responsibilities of the family, and channelling knowledge about the right way to defend rights in the household.

It is also intended to increase the understanding and feelings of love between husband and wife in accordance with the demands of Islam as narrated in Surah An-Nisa verse 19 which means “And associate with them (your wives) in a good way”, he said.

The course also aims to provide opportunities for participants to establish good relationships with relevant agencies, Muhd Hanif said.

Held at the Multipurpose Hall, High Court Building and Syariah Courts, the Prime Minister Office, the course is held for three days, beginning yesterday.

It is conducted in an integrated manner, which is to collaborate with other government agencies in sharing and delivering information in terms of Syariah law, and law related to family.

Seven papers will be presented during the course by facilitators who are experts in their fields.
