In celebration of World EV Day, Porsche Brunei has launched the third Porsche Destination Charging in the country together with Standard Chartered Bank Brunei, at their headquarters in Gadong. Special financing rates from Standard Chartered Bank are also offered for Porsche BEV customers in this pioneering initiative for electromobility and green financing in Brunei.

Porsche Brunei, operated by QAF Prestige Sdn Bhd, is partnering up with Standard Chartered Bank in celebration of World EV Day on 9th September to launch the third Porsche Destination Charging in the nation. The Porsche Destination Charging is located at Standard Chartered Bank’s headquarters in Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The launch of the third Porsche Destination Charging site was officiated by the General Manager of QAF Prestige, Lahiru De Silva, CEO of Standard Chartered Brunei, Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim, and the Head of Consumer Private Business Banking, Standard Chartered Brunei, Brenda Low. Porsche Brunei continues to make strides in enhancing Brunei’s electric vehicle infrastructure, and this collaboration represents a significant step forward in the country’s journey towards sustainable and responsible lectromobility.
On the same evening, Porsche Centre Brunei hosted the World EV Day celebration, with the distinguished presence of Yang Mulia Ahmad Zaiemaddien bin Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar eneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi, President of Brunei Climate Change Secretariat, as the guest of honor. The event saw the attendance of Porsche customers and Standard Chartered Brunei’s esteemed Priority Banking clients.
Standard Chartered Bank Brunei also unveiled a new green financing initiative alongside the launch of the Porsche Destination Charging site with an Effective Interest Rate (EIR) of 4.75% p.a. for personal loans and 4% p.a. for wealth lending from 9th September until 8th October 2023. An extended promotion is also offered from 8th October until 31st December 2023 with an EIR of 5% p.a. for personal loans on a Porsche BEV, and for wealth lending, an offer of 4.25% p.a. from 8th October until 31st December 2024 is applicable for any purchase of a Porsche BEV within that period.
The green financing offer for electric vehicles (EVs) is the first of its kind in Brunei. This initiative is in line with the nation’s commitment towards reducing carbon emissions and reaching their target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This collaboration is a major milestone for the EV market in Brunei and helps to promote further interest in environmentally-conscious vehicles such as the EV.
Porsche Destination Charging has rapidly become an integral component of Porsche’s holistic approach to creating an expansive charging ecosystem for EV owners nationwide. This initiative aims to elevate the convenience of public charging infrastructure with strategically positioned charging points at prominent lifestyle destinations. The Porsche Destination Charging station is also complimentary for all Porsche BEV drivers to use.
