The Borneo Research Centre (penBorneo) through the Brunei History Centre (PSB) conducted a two-day workshop on basic preservation of records at its centre in Anggerek Desa, Berakas, which began yesterday and will continue today.

The workshop saw the attendance of 15 officers and staff of the PSB and is facilitated by two officers from the centre – Muhammad Hefni bin Mahari and Muhammad Ataillah bin Haji Julaihi.

The workshop began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa followed by welcoming remarks from PSB Deputy Principal Hanafi bin Haji Salleh.

The workshop is conducted to raise awareness and understanding among officers and staff on the importance of the preservation of valuable historic materials as proof and references.

It also provides an opportunity for participants to gain knowledge and be well-versed in the basic concept and methods of record preservation as well as to expose participants to the best methods in preserving records that show signs of damage.
