Over 500 Standard Chartered Bank employees and their family members joined the fun at the bank’s Family Day event at the Jerudong Park Playground recently.
The event was organised by peer-led Recreation Club Committee. Colleagues were given Jerudong Park Playground access tickets to the Phase 1 and Phase 2 areas for the playground along with the waterpark.
Activities ranging from face painting, bouncers, electric car rides and fun carnival games were made accessible for the employees and their family members to participate in. An Amazing Race was also organised in which five teams raced around the playground solving riddles to win prizes.
Local food vendors were also present to serve the crowd with dishes such as noodles, burgers, popsicles and satay. Employees and family members were also able to enjoy free flow of popcorn and cotton candy.
Employees and family members were encouraged to bring their own food containers, cutleries, and water bottles to discourage single-use plastics to create a positive impact to the environment.
Standard Chartered Bank Recreation Club Chairperson Sharon Tan said, “The event was the first family day post-COVID-19 and the team went all out to make it special. The day was created to not only celebrate our colleagues’ hard work but their families as well. We believe in achieving a positive work-life balance for our staff and this wouldn’t have been made possible with the support of their family members. I’m proud and happy to see a lot of our colleagues came out to enjoy themselves and to get to know one another’s family members better in a fun setting. We are always looking forward to creating activities to encourage staff engagement.”
