    Petrol station inspections scheduled for February

    The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will conduct verification checks on fuel dispensing pumps at various stations in line with the Weights and Measures Act 1983, Chapter 151.

    The fuel stations include Syarikat Stesen Minyak Koperasi Perniagaan dan Perusahaan Melayu Berhad today, Syarikat Stesen Minyak Ikatan Teluk Mewah tomorrow, Syarikat Stesen Minyak Bebatik on February 6, Syarikat Stesen Minyak Masjory on February 8, Syarikat Stesen Minyak Mabohai on February 10, Syarikat Stesen Minyak 59 Sdn Bhd (Riverine Station Kampong Buang Sakar) on February 11, Koperasi Persatuan Kampong Lubok Pulau (KOPEKLAP) with Tanggungan Berhad on February 18, Syarikat Stesen Minyak Telisai Sdn Bhd Tutong on February 19, Syarikat Stesen Minyak SEPAKAT Belait on February 20 and Syarikat Stesen Minyak Negalang Maju Sdn Bhd Temburong on February 27. The act mandates that all weighing and measuring machines used for trade be registered with SDT and regularly inspected for accuracy.

    For public and worker safety during inspections, the affected fuel stations will be temporarily closed from 9am to 11am, with each verification process expected to take approximately two hours. These routine inspections are carried out three times a year. – James Kon
