Local club Perwira ended their campaign in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Cup 2022 with a crushing 19-0 defeat at the hands of Bintang Timur Surabaya in their final Group ‘A’ match at the Terminal 21 in Korat, Thailand yesterday.

While much discussion was centred towards leading scorer Andri Kustiawan, it was Samuel Eko who stole the show after managing six goals. Andri Kustiawan continued his hot scoring streak after bagging four goals, with Aditya replicating the same feat.

Ardiansyah Runtuboy opened the floodgates in the fifth minute, while Edison Coelho, Syauqi Saud and Septyan were also on the score-sheet.

The Bruneians, who were already eliminated from the competition was playing for pride while Bintang Timur Surabaya was aiming for qualification to the next round.

It marked the first time that a Brunei futsal club was represented in the regional meet since Arbisyam in 2018.
