The Information Department under the Prime Minister’s Office, through its Belait District Branch, organised a Personal Contact programme at the Liang Lumut Recreation Club (LLRC) in Jalan Pantai Lumut yesterday.
The event aimed to engage Kampong Lumut II residents in Mukim Liang, Belait District and provide updates on current issues, government policies, while gathering feedback for government agencies.
Acting Senior Information Officer Saadiatul Aqilah binti Haji Jaman led the delegation from the Information Department.
Saadiatul Aqilah highlighted the department’s role as the government’s channel for disseminating current information and policies, and addressing public concerns.
She also emphasised the importance of initiatives like the personal contact programme and the official publication Pelita Brunei in facilitating two-way communication between the government and the people.
Meanwhile, Village Head of Kampong Lumut II Haji Khairdon bin Haji Dahlan, expressed his appreciation for the programme, noting that it provides an invaluable opportunity for the village residents to receive the latest information from government agencies.
He also highlighted the benefits of the programme in fostering dialogue and encouraging the exchange of ideas, and serving as a platform for community development and the welfare of Kampong Lumut II and the Sultanate.
The event featured a dialogue session, where residents raised concerns on various issues, including the environment, safety and emergency services, infrastructure and public facilities.
