Patriotism filled the air at the giant-sized national flag hoisting ceremony to mark the beginning of Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day celebration at the open area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital yesterday.
Participant Abdul Halim bin Anuar from Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, Rimba said, “I am grateful and honoured to be part of the ceremony.
“There are no words that can describe my emotions as we witnessed the giant-sized national flag hoisted up in the sky, marking the start of the country’s 40th National Day celebration.”
He added, “Brunei has progressed a lot over the last 40 years and I believe we are heading in the right direction towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.”
He also expressed hope in seeing more people, especially youth, to rise up and overcome challenges as well as contribute to the country. – James Kon
