The excellence achieved by students is a reflection of a collective effort shown by teachers and parents in educating, encouraging and supporting the students, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Primary School headmistress Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi said.
She said this when some 167 Year 6 YSHHB Primary School students were feted during a convocation and prize presentation ceremony at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.
Hajah Mariam also congratulated the students for their achievements.
The headmistress also highlighted the programmes and initiative conducted by the teaching body such as intervention classes, teaching period extensions, learning support centre and mathematics teaching class conducted every Friday.
Student representative Kasyfe Hakim bin Mohamad Helmme in his speech thanked parents, teachers and his peers for the support and guidance which led to their achievements and graduation.
Deputy Director of Brunei Investment Agency Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman as a member of the Board of Directors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the guest of honour, presented the students with certificates and prizes.
The event began with a procession of graduates and teachers to the hall followed by the singing of the national anthem and school song.
Meanwhile, teachers were also celebrated and presented with prizes during the ceremony. – Adib Noor
