The Foochow Association Belait in collaboration with BSC Berhad organised a talk on effective parenting recently.
Association chairman Tan Tei Tei along with the committee members and families attended the talk, delivered by invited speaker from BSC Berhad Leong Ting Ting.
Leong focussed on two topics: how parents deal with children’s gadget addiction and zero-barrier communication between parents and children.
Association committee members Jackson Wong highlighted the importance of effective parenting and how it is needed to work together to set a grip on ensuring children’s growth with the rising use of technology.
“I hope that the topics discussed will help provide a better insight into tips that both parents and children can adopt to create a healthy environment for the children to grow and develop,” said Wong.
Some tips and tricks discussed included forming healthy habits at an early age, creating fun and engaging games and not focussing on mobile devices, and a balanced disciplining method while ensuring the well-being of the child.
