Parenting and guiding children through their early years is no easy task and must be given its due attention, said Imams in yesterday’s Friday sermon.

“It should not be taken lightly,” said Imams, adding that the way parents educate their children determines their future, particularly amid a challenging modern era.

“It is not easy to raise children who are decent, pious and meritorious to their parents and the community.

“A child is entrusted to parents from Allah the Almighty, and among a parent’s responsibility is to ensure that their children receive proper education and are equipped with knowledge for worldly affairs and for the days of the hereafter.”

The Imams said parents should set an example for their children to follow through their attitudes and conversations.

The Imams said the practice of Islamic teachings and way of life will raise pious children.

Parents should advise their children on faith, community values and living in society.

“Parent should monitor their children’s environment to ensure their safety and well-being.”

The Imams said family is a crucial institution in a community.

A harmonious and caring family will bring happiness to a household and society, they said.

“Let us pray for a harmonious and joyous family and always be under the protection of Allah the Almighty,” said the Imams.
