Over BND2K in food items donated to underprivileged families

The Loan Service Thrift Shop, manned by volunteers from the families of United Kingdom (UK) Loan Service personnel, donated food items worth BND2,200 to underprivileged families in Kampong Ayer and Kampong Sungai Bunga.

Situated at Berakas Camp, the Thrift Shop is a valued element of the UK Loan Service’s commitment to the community in which they live.

The Shop Managers Dickson and Stevens, identified families in need and highlighted the importance of regular donations to these communities.

With help from Sarina from Kampong Sungai Bunga, the Loan Service donation will aid 30 families, each receiving food items such as eggs, rice and cooking oil.

Some of the people who benefitted were a family of autistic adults, and a single mother of seven.

With help from Kem from Kunyit 7 Lodge, the volunteers were taken by boat to distribute the food to 20 families.
