Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) collected over 300 kilogrammes of trash during a beach clean-up campaign at Jerudong Beach yesterday.
As part of JPMC’s 25th Silver Jubilee anniversary celebration, JPMC Environmental corporate social responsibility organised the beach clean-up event in collaboration with Borneo United Enterprise Sdn Bhd.
The event was attended by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in his capacity as JPMC Executive Director. JPMC’s management, department heads, and 70 volunteers also participated.
The minister said littering the marine environment can damage the ecosystem and destroy the entire beach experience, especially for the future generation.
He hoped the campaign can contribute to long-term behaviour change and promote a sense of responsibility for the environment.
