A clean-up at Serasa Beach saw over 256 kilogrammes of trash, comprising plastics, cigarette butts and packaging materials collected by the participants.

The ‘Laksamana College of Business (LCB) Beach Clean Up 2022’ organised by Level 3 Diploma in Business students as part of their module under Managing an Event saw 46 volunteers including LCB students and lecturers and the public.

The two-hour event saw over 50 bags of trash being collected. Sponsors RKS Syed Mohammed Enterprise (RKS), a waste management company, disposed the trash.

The event was held in collaboration with LCB and International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), the world’s largest volunteer effort for Oceans.

Representing ICC was Alan Tan and his wife, Sherly. The clean-up event was aimed at creating environmental awareness among the public and is also part of the college’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a safety briefing by the Site Captain Abdul Razzaq Qawiem bin Haji Abdul Rahim.
