Over 250 members attended a Khatam Al-Quran at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang in conjunction with Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam’s birthday.
The event, organised by the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (CWBD), was joined by Brunei Darussalam Nurses Association (PENJURU) President Datin Paduka Hajah Suraya Noraidah binti Abdullah. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by CWBD President Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, followed by collective recitations of Sayyidul Istighfar and Selawat Taffrijiyyah.
Dayangku Hajah Zainab binti Pengiran Haji Tuah led Al-Quran reading from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad, while Julianawati binti Haji Hamdan of the Belait District Women’s Welfare Association conducted the takhtim recitation. The event concluded with a Dikir Marhaban by Kampong Lambak Youth Association and Nurul Islam Association members, along with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by Hajah Amsah binti Haji Abd Rajak from the Women’s Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam.
CWBD Deputy Presidents Pengiran Datin Paduka Hajah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Matarsat, Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Md Ali and Hajah Kertini binti OKPSD Abang Haji Abu Hanifah were also present.
The ceremony serves as an annual tradition towards Her Majesty, who serves as the Royal Patron of CWBD. – Fadley Faisal
