“Seven agencies have provided a conditional offer of employment that promises to provide students with the relevant and practical skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the many task and work that are to be expected.”
This was said by Acting Principal of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Satellite Campus Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab in his welcoming remarks during the first day of orientation for 36 students who started a year-long journey in their Certificate of Proficiency Apprenticeship (COP) programme for Deck Rating and Engine Rating for May 2023 intake at the Brunei Maritime Academy, IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus.
He also hoped that the students will take full advantage of this opportunity to be more committed to completing the programme, which starts with a series of orientation talks held following his speech.
This includes talks on administration, academics and discipline, each delivered by their respective heads and representatives from each department.
The new intake of students also pledged to uphold the vision and mission of the campus which was led by the programme’s seniors in the oath-taking ceremony. The orientation will run until May 6 to help introduce the students to their new learning environment.
