Mosques, suraus and religious halls across the Sultanate continued enlivening Maulidur Rasul, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with dikir and selawat.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy held a Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremony on Tuesday at the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Kampong Tungku/Katok.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid was also in attendance.
A ceremony was also held at the Istana Nurul Iman surau, attended by Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan. The event also witnessed a talk on ‘Embracing Sunnah of the Prophet’ by Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi from the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI).
Meanwhile, a Ministry of Culture, Youth Sports (MCYS) delegation attended a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong.
Director of Administration and Finance at the MCYS Haji Asiruddin bin Haji Zaini and Acting Director of Museums Department Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus were the guests of honour.
In the Tutong District, the PDI, through the Muallaf Development Division, continued the dikir ceremony at the Kampong Bukit Udal Mosque.
Some 90 people attended the event comprising converts and villagers, as well as a PDI delegation led by PDI Assistant Director Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
The ceremony included a religious talk on ‘Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam yang pemedulian terhadap umatnya’ by Assistant Religious Officer at the Tutong District Dakwah Unit Muhammad Syahirul Syafiq bin Rashid. – Fadley Faisal, Rokiah Mahmud & Lyna Mohamad
