NewJeans: A fan meeting to remember

SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – K-pop sensation NewJeans has named their recent fan meeting at Tokyo Dome as their favourite moment from the past two years.

“There have been many memorable moments, but the Tokyo Dome fan meeting stands out the most. It felt like a dream spending time with the Bunnies who love our music,” said Minji in a statement released by Ador, the group’s agency, to mark their two-year anniversary.

Hanni, who covered popular Japanese singer Seiko Matsuda’s “Aoi Sangosho (Blue Coral Reef)” during the Tokyo event, added, “The process of practising and preparing for the Tokyo Dome fan meeting seems to stick with me the most.”

Danielle and Haerin both mentioned that the sight of fans cheering with countless Binky Bongs (special NewJeans’ cheering sticks) left a deep impression on them. While Hyein cherished their debut stage on July 22, 2022, she also found the Tokyo performance particularly memorable.

Around 91,000 fans attended NewJeans’ fan meeting, “Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome,” held on June 26 and June 27.

Reflecting on their journey, Minji remarked, “The past two years have flown by in an instant. Just when we start to feel comfortable on stage, there’s always a new challenge waiting for us. I believe we can overcome anything as long as we’re together.”

Since their debut, NewJeans has released five albums, all of which became million-sellers. According to Ador, their recent Japanese debut single “Supernatural” has been well received, leading to invitations from major Japanese television networks and requests for additional performances outside Tokyo.
