New logistics certification launch sets to strengthen workforce

“The transportation and logistics sector plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and fostering international trade,” said Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Ir Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof.

Speaking at the launch of the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations Tuesday, he emphasised the importance of cultivating a skilled, adaptable, and innovative workforce to keep Brunei ahead in the evolving global logistics landscape.

The programme, introduced through a collaboration between the Brunei Freight Forwarders Association (BRUFA) and Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (COSMO), aims to enhance the competencies of the local workforce in the logistics sector, a key pillar of Brunei’s economy.

Held at COSMO Hall, the launch was attended by industry leaders, including CEOs, COOs, and general managers from various sectors. The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between COSMO and BRUFA, represented by Chairman of Cosmopolitan College Dr Aziz Latip and President of BRUFA Thomas Koh.

The City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations is an internationally recognised qualification covering essential aspects of logistics, including receiving and storing goods, processing orders, health and safety, customer service, teamwork, and communication.
