As a side event under Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day celebration, the National Blood Donation Campaign 2024 is being carried out nationwide for five days from February 27.
The campaign started at the Times Square Shopping Centre, Jalan Berakas on February 27, organised by the Co-Curriculum Department, Ministry of Education (MoE) for the Brunei-Muara District.
The campaign continued at Seri Kenangan Hall, Tutong District Office in the Tutong District yesterday.
Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud attended.
The blood donation campaign today will be held at the Multipurpose Hall of Brunei Darussalam Scout Association Headquarters, Bandar Seri Begawan, at the Belalong Community Hall, Pekan Bangar, Temburong District on March 5 and at the Belait District Religious Office on March 7.
The campaign is an initiative of the Blood Donation Centre, Department of Laboratory Services, Ministry of Health with Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, MoE, MCYS and Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association.
According to the MCYS, the National Blood Donation Campaign 2024 aims to raise awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion as well as the important voluntary and unpaid contribution of blood donors. – James Kon
