Every 15th of Syaaban, Muslims in the Sultanate celebrate Nisfu, a night of immense blessings and mercy, where prayers are answered.

During this month, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) increased religious obligations, and it is sunnah for Muslims to do so. Recognising the significance and blessings of the night of Nisfu Syaaban, Muslims are encouraged to enhance their religious devotion through increased prayers and zikir to seek the mercy and blessings of Allah the Almighty.

To commemorate Nisfu Syaaban, mass Maghrib and Isyak prayers, along with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and special doa, were held at mosques, suraus, and prayer halls nationwide with the main event at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital on Thursday.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim was the guest of honour.
