Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) Group of Companies comprising Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) and TAIB Filling Station Sdn Bhd held a Tedarus Al-Quran and donation handover ceremony to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, in his capacity as the Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors, attended the event.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as the Deputy Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB and Assistant State Mufti (‘Ifta) Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Dennie bin Haji Abdullah as the Chairman of the Perbadanan TAIB Syariah Advisory Committee. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Kampong Penabai Mosque’s Imam Muhammad Syuwari bin Ilham followed by Tedarus Al-Quran led by Kampong Penabai Mosque’s Bilal Mohamad Danial Syazwi bin Nawi.
The ceremony continued with the minister presenting donations to 19 orphans, followed by a series of donations to DANA.
A donation of BND100,000 was contributed by Perbadanan TAIB, while Insurans Islam TAIB Family Takaful Sdn Bhd, Insurans Islam TAIB General Takaful Sdn Bhd and DHSB donated BND10,000 each.
Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim also presented donations to Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, as DANA Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by imam of Kampong Penabai. – Azlan Othman
