A delegation from the Ministry of Education, led by Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, conducted a working visit to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Malaysia since February 12 until yesterday.
The Permanent Secretary paid a courtesy call on Secretary-General at the MoHE Dato Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang on February 13, where the two parties engaged in discussions and expressed gratitude for their ongoing collaboration in higher education.
Also present during the session was Deputy Secretary-General at the MoHE Dato Dr Haji Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian and Director-General of Higher Education Professor Dr Azlinda binti Azman.
The delegation held several meetings with agencies under the MoHE such as the Department of Polytechnic Education and Community Colleges (JPPKK), the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT), the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation in research and strategic plans for higher education.
Among the main objectives of the working visit were to discuss the draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia in the higher education and identify potential initiatives to be explored between the two parties.
The MoE also sought to expand professional collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders in the field of education.
The MoE delegation met with High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin @ Haji Md Saidin to share the progress of the MoE’s working visit and organised a get-together with students from the Brunei Darussalam Student Representative Council and education attachés in Malaysia.
