The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) organised a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Az-Zakireen Mosque in RPN Kampong Meragang recently, in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The event, coordinated by the Brunei History Centre, the Language and Literature Bureau and the Community Development Department, commenced with a mass Maghrib prayer.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.
Religious teacher at Az-Zakireen Mosque Md Zulfikri bin Murah led the recitation of Dikir Assalamualaika, while Firqah Al-Falaah from the MCYS led the recitation of Dikir Khairuman and Dikir Badat.
The ceremony concluded with a mass Isyak prayer, the mosque’s imam Haji Shahbirin bin Haji Md Noor leading the recitation of Dikir Marhaban and Doa Dikir, followed by mosque affairs officer imam Haji Nurhidayatullah bin Haji Zulkifilee reciting Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin was also present at the ceremony. – Rokiah Mahmud
