Ministries mark Nuzul Al-Quran

The Ministry of Health (MoH) held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration as well as a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony which included the distribution of donations to orphans at the ministry’s Al-‘Afiah Hall yesterday.

The ceremony, organised by the Department of Nursing Services and the Department of Hwealth Services, commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Takhtim, and Doa Khatam, followed by a Dikir Marhaban.

The event also saw Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar handover donations to 54 orphans, comprising members of the MoH.

The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat by Head of Religious Services Unit at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital Haji Nor Asilin bin Haji Puting.

Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Ang Swee Hui and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Siti Ajar binti Haji Yusop were also present. – Adib Noor

Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), through the Youth and Sports Department yesterday held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration and Khatam Al-Quran ceremony as well as a presentation of donation to orphans at the ministry’s Digadong Hall.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.

The ceremony commenced with the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister. The event proceeded with a Dikir Marhaban by the ministry’s officers and staff, before the reading of Takhtim.

Religious Development Officer (i-Ready) of the Youth Development Centre Muhammad Irfan bin Haji Aliakbar and Abdul Muazzam Azri bin Zulkifli led the recitation of Tahlil.

The ceremony also saw a talk ‘Al-Qur’an Pedomanku’ by Assistant Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Pengiran Haji Reduan bin Pengiran Haji Badaruddin. Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi presented donations to 22 orphans.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by Muhammad Irfan. Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, and Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin were also present. – James Kon

Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education through the Department of Information and Communication Technology and Lifelong Learning Centre held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration at the main hall of the ministry’s new building yesterday.

Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Chief Scholarship and Welfare Officer from the Department of Scholarship Management Haji Raminey bin Haji Salleh.

The event proceeded with a religious lecture, titled ‘Al-Quran Pedomanku’, by Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Muhammad Najib bin Haji Awang. – James Kon

Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications

The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration and a presentation of donations to orphans at the ministry’s Amar Pahlawan Hall on Monday.

Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha was the guest of honour at the event organised by the Postal Services Department.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Al-Quran verses by Religious Education Officer at Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School Pengiran Muhammad Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki.

The event was enlivened with a talk on ‘Al-Quran Pedomanku’ by Head of Belait District Dakwah Unit from the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustafa. The minister presented donations to 35 orphans comprising family members of MTIC staff.

The event is one of the ministry’s religious activities to mark the holy month of Ramadhan and in commemoration of Nuzul Al-Quran.

It also aims to raise awareness on the need to take care of orphans while strengthening bonds between officers and staff of the ministry. – Lyna Mohamad & James Kon
