Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future
Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future (ALAF) organised a Khatam Al-Quran at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque for students participating in the programme yesterday.
The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
This was followed with the recitation of Al-Quran verses by the students. Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, as Chairman of BIBD Syariah Advisory Body, and BIBD Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Junaidi bin Haji Masri were present. – James Kon

A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held for female officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs at Az-Zakireen Mosque yesterday.
The event marked the completion of Tedarus Al-Quran recitation for Ramadhan. It also fostered closer ties among the female officers and staff.

Politeknik Brunei
Politeknik Brunei (PB) organised a Khatam Al-Quran and Tahlil for its officers, staff and students at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah yesterday.
The event, with 700 participants, began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a talk on Nuzul Al-Quran by Assistant Professor and Fiqh Usrah Director at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Dr Haji Sham bin Haji Amin. It was followed by the recitation of Khatam and concluded with a Zohor prayer.

Kampong Sengkurong ‘B’ Village Consultative Council
Kampong Sengkurong ‘B’ Village Consultative Council’s (MPK Sengkurong ‘B’) Women’s Bureau organised a Khatam Al-Quran and presentation of donations to the village’s underprivileged residents at the Mukim Sengkurong Community Hall recently.
Acting Village Head of Kampong Sengkurong ‘B’ Abdul Razak bin Haji Ismail presented donations to three Women’s Bureau members and 12 disadvantaged individuals.
Chairperson of Women’s Bureau Hajah Rukiah binti Haji Mohammad Yassin and 60 members of the Women’s Bureau participated in the event that concluded with an iftar. – Rokiah Mahmud
Former hostelites of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College
Former hostelites of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) College and spouses organised a Khatam Al-Quran at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque recently.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Haji Mohd Zain bin Haji Yahya and a speech from chairman of the organising committee Haji Zaini bin Haji Mohd Yussop.
There was a waqaf presentation of 60 chairs to the mosque. Ten single mothers also received food items and 17 orphans, received cash donations.
Members of the advisory board Haji Mohd Ismail bin Haji Ahmad, Haji Sabli bin Haji Arsad, Dato Paduka Seri Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Johan and Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Lahab were also present. – Azlan Othman
