In preparation for the Maghrib and Isyak prayers, as well as the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran today on the occasion of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration, the working committee for the event visited Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong yesterday to oversee the rehearsal.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman as the Chairperson of the National Committee for His Majesty’s 77th birthday celebration, Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan were present.
Besides Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, other venues set to hold the religious event are Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri, Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong, Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop, Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Mukim Sengkurong, Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Kebun, Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara and Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque.
For the Belait District, it will be held at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque and Pekan Seria Mosque while in the Tutong District, it will be held at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque and in the Temburong District at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque.
The nation will celebrate the monarch’s birthday with a grand ceremonial parade tomorrow at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital, followed by the audience and investiture ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman. – Azlan Othman
