President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) Tetsuya Watanabe held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha.
The meeting saw the minister and the president exchange on the prospects and challenges of the digital economy in the region.
The two parties also discussed decarbonisation strategies for the transportation sector.
Watanabe introduced the forthcoming Asia Zero Emission Centre (AZEC), which will be established in ERIA, and expressed a commitment to collaborating with the ASEAN Centre for Climate Change, which will be based in the Sultanate. – James Kon
