Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad underlined the importance of creating an organisational culture that prioritises integrity and good governance.

Integrity, he added, is a basic value that should be strengthened and fostered in all levels of administration because it forms a solid foundation for public trust, organisational stability and comprehensive national development.

“Therefore, we must always adhere to the moral and ethical principles, practice transparency in administrative principles and being fair and true in our decisions when carrying out duties and responsibilities,” said the minister.

The minister highlighted this in his opening remarks at the launch of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Customer Day.

“Public service organisations, including MCYS, play an important role in spurring progress and prosperity of the country,” he said. He also touched on the quality of service delivery, which “still has room for improvement”.

“However”, he added, providing good service can be challenging, amid climate change.” The minister noted that customer expectations continues to grow as stakeholders become increasingly sophisticated.

“In meeting those expectations, we must move with the demands of change. Thus, I call on employees of the ministry to give their full commitment in finding opportunities to implement initiatives that improve services,” said the minister.

“In other words, we should always practice an attitude of openness, and sensitive to the rapid development of information technology and modern communication,” he added.

The Tekad Pemedulian Orang Ramai (TPOR) should constantly be updated from time to time by re-examining in detail through management methods.
