The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) organised a recitation of Surah Yaasin and Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim in conjunction with the 63rd anniversary celebration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at the Royal Mausoleum yesterday. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin were also present.
The function began with the recitation of Surah Yaasin and Tahlil led by Lieutenant Colonel Ariffin bin Amit @ Hamid from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), followed by Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
RBAF’s 63rd anniversary celebration will be held on June 1. – James Kon
