    Malaysia PM Anwar visits Ramadhan bazaar

    NIBONG TEBAL (BERNAMA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited and engaged with traders and visitors at the Ramadhan Bazaar in Bandar Tasek Mutiara, Simpang Ampat on Tuesday.

    He arrived at 6:15pm, accompanied by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. Education Minister and Nibong Tebal MP Fadhlina Sidek, Bukit Tambun state assemblyman Goh Choon Aik, and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) Mayor Datuk Baderul Amin Abdul Hamid were also present.

    Upon arrival, Anwar was warmly welcomed by visitors of various races and ages, with many excited children eager to meet him and shake his hand.

    He spent around 20 minutes chatting with traders and greeting visitors at the bazaar, which features 110 stalls. One of the traders, Rashidah Hashim, 48, was thrilled to meet the Prime Minister in person and was delighted to offer him some of her food.

    “I can’t describe my feelings because I’m meeting the Prime Minister for the first time, something I never expected. He even joked and asked me, ‘Where’s the pulut udang?'” she shared.

    Meanwhile, Penang Director of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry S Jegan said that MYR20 Touch ‘n Go top-ups were offered to 1,000 visitors at the ministry’s booth under the Retail Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI), aimed at promoting digital transactions among traders.

    After the visit, Anwar proceeded to Masjid Abu Ubaidah Ibni Al-Jarrah in Bandar Tasek Mutiara to attend the Penang State-Level MADANI Iftar Ceremony.
