Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Malacca Tun Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam and spouse Toh Puan Datuk Wira (Dr) Hajah Asmah binti Haji Abdul Rahman visited Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) yesterday. The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Haji Raffizanna bin Pengiran Haji Razali and Acting Director BKISHHB Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Jumaat.
Also present were Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah and spouse Datin Roslina Ismail.
A briefing session was held before the tour which included safety, gallery’s background and collections led by Haji Ibrahim.
The delegation then toured the nine galleries and the collections of replicas of objects belonging to Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), Islamic manuscripts and Islamic astronomical equipment. The governor was in the country for a three-day visit. The delegation left the country after performing Friday prayer.
BKISHHB re-opened its doors last year to visitors to its nine exhibition galleries with Islamic heritage and historical artefacts. – Lyna Mohamad
