A delightful array of fresh local fruits, vegetables, and products are currently on display at the local fruits festival “Lakastah Membali Buah-Buahan Kitani,” hosted at the weekend market in the serene setting of Rimba Agribusiness Centre. This two-day festival brings together more than 60 local farmers and businesses, building upon the success of last year’s Pasar Kitani event.
Visitors to the festival can indulge in a variety of local fruits such as durian, rambutan, tarap, mangosteen, and more, showcasing the rich diversity of Bruneian produce.
The primary objective of the festival is to inspire local farmers and businesses to enhance their production of local fruits and vegetables by establishing market channels and fostering marketing opportunities. Through activities like quizzes, reptile shows, flower decorations, and food trucks, the festival provides a platform for engagement and education.
Organised by the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, the festival opens its doors from 6 am to 3 pm, inviting the community to partake in the celebration of Brunei’s agricultural heritage and abundance. – JAMES KON
