Belait Arabic School is hoping to launch a public programme in November to teach Arabic language using fun games and activities.
“We plan to host a number of games and activities that promote the use of Arabic language to help inspire more students to learn it,” said programme secretary at the Belait Arabic School Siti Zahara Haji Matusin. She said the Hayya Ilal Arabiah programme is slated to take place in November, open to the public in addition to other Arabic schools in the country.
The school is familiar with the ‘fun’ style of teaching, having recently concluded its game-based education Taj An-Najah programme for Arabic School students for the second time on Thursday.
“By learning through game-based education, it can help prime the students to be more active as well as to always remember the lessons learnt in the classroom,” said Belait Arabic School acting headmistress Pengiran Hajah Masniah @ Nur Amalina binti Pengiran Hussin.
The programme will help students revise their curriculum through treasure hunts, board games, quizzes and Minecraft.
“We also want to help students to maintain a mutual understanding and communicate as a group,” she added. – Daniel Lim
