Laksamana College of Business (LCB) and La Vida Bhd have organised a two-day event to mark the Day of Action (DOA) 2024: ‘Rising Together: Empowering in Hearts for a Greater Future’.

During the opening ceremony yesterday, LCB Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Principal Sivarajah Subramaniam said it is an important and special day as it focuses on the special needs community’s high spirit and strength.

“LCB is proud to offer our space for this event. We believe education can create a positive change in our community. And today, we aim to create an inclusive environment where everyone can learn and support each other,” he said.

The event provided participants with activities based on knowledge according to the Social Entrepreneurship and Youth Development cluster of the DOA.

Yesterday saw fun activities, such as newspaper runway, where participants designed clothing made from newspapers and performed a fashion show.

Participants also took part in a dance session called ‘Shake It Off’, and ‘Paint the Future’ where they created memorabilia painted with their palms.

The programme continues today with a workshop to empower the aspiring entrepreneurs under the La Vida programme.

Participants will undergo a day training with activities on social media marketing and account and profit-making facilitated by LCB lecturers Dr Afiqah Amin and Rohaizah. – Lyna Mohamad
