WARGAMAS Association
The WARGAMAS Association commenced the recitation of 78 Times Khatam Al-Quran under the Khatam Al-Quran programme (RKAQ); Khatam Al-Quran for the Tedarus activity in the month of Ramadhan; and handing over of donations to orphans under the Sumbangan Mulia programme yesterday at Pengiran Anak Puteri Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School in Kampong Serusop.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and spouse were among the attendees.
WARGAMAS Association President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said the RKAQ serves as a pesambah for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony also marked the association’s completion of the recitation of Al-Quran for the month of Ramadhan for the third year.
Meanwhile, the donation under the Sumbangan Mulia, he added, derived from contributions from WARGAMAS Association members.

Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (PEKERTI)
Forty members of the Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (PEKERTI) of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) recently held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the surau of Gadong police headquarters.
Spouse of the Commissioner of Police and PEKERTI President Pengiran Datin Hajah Zauyah binti Pengiran Haji Sulaiman was the guest of honour.
Spouse of the Deputy Commissioner of Police and PEKERTI chairperson Datin Sabrina Aziemah binti Abdullah Chong, as well as executive members and members from all seven branches were also present.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses and Dikir Marhaban.
The religious activity aimed to foster close ties among members of PEKERTI and encourage the reading of Al-Quran. – James Kon

Nazmi Textile Mall
Some 148 orphans from Mukim Berakas were treated to an iftar hosted by Nazmi Textile Mall at the Royal Berkshire Hall of Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong on Saturday.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Yusof was present along with High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri, Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Turkiye to Brunei Darussalam Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy and Omani Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Erma Said Mohamed Al Kathiry.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan along with the Indian high commissioner, Nazmi Textile Mall founder Nazeer Ahamed Mohamed Zackiriah and spouse presented the donations to the orphans, who each received a piece of Raya material and duit raya. – Lyna Mohamad
