Kasuka end MS ABDB perfect record in Brunei Futsal League

Kasuka Ar-Rawda retained their position at the summit of the Brunei Futsal League 2023 following an emphatic 8-1 rout over MS ABDB in an enthralling match at the Multi-Purpose

Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last weekend.

The huge achievement by Wahyu Triyanto’s charges subsequently ended MS ABDB’s perfect record who came into the match with a 10-game winning run.

The second meeting between the two teams, both of whom boast a good reputation in the Brunei Futsal League, was met with palpable excitement by the futsal spectators.

Kasuka broke the deadlock through Mohd Norazizam Roslan in the 11th minute in front of a fervent crowd after both teams had exchanged attacks in search of the opening goal.

The lead doubled as Mohd Reza Rahmannia who had been tightly marked broke free and beat the MS ABDB goalkeeper in the 13th minute.

MS ABDB halved the deficit almost immediately through Md Safari Wahit but Kasuka restored their two-goal cushion just a minute later.

Abol Fazl Minouei and Mohd Fardi Farhan Afendi gave MS ABDB a mountain to climb as Kasuka stormed to a 5-1 lead.

The army personnel rose in the second half and worked more tirelessly but Kasuka was simply too clinical with Awangku Muhd Nazirul Mubin Pengiran Adruman on target in the 29th minute.

Mohd Reza converted from the spot two minutes later before Mohd Fardi Farhan added the gloss to the win two minutes from time to compound MS ABDB’s misery.

Kasuka Ar-Rawda Head Coach Wahyu Triyanto said, “The players have formed a very good team and managed to close down the spaces to prevent opponents from scoring. They were in full spirits in taking on MS ABDB who also possess their own strengths.

“This good momentum must be maintained besides fine-tuning tactical play and the level of confidence of the players.” – Fadhil Yunus
