Brunei-Muara District Senior Citizens Activity Centre
The Brunei-Muara District Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) held a Hari Raya open house at the centre in Lambak Kanan on Friday.
Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Walsahfelah were in attendance.
Acting Director of Community Development Department (JAPEM) Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau Hajah Hairani binti Haji Awang Damit and officers and staff of the Health Promotion Centre and the bureau were also present. – Lyna Mohamad
Tahfiz Preparation Class
The Tahfiz Preparation Class organised a ‘Semarak Raya Aidilfitri’ celebration for its students at its founder Himesadeja binti Adenan’s residence in Kampong Mulaut on
Friday.
The celebration was enlivened with 100 times selawat, recitation of Surah Al-Mulk and Surah As-Sajdah, and tausyeh performance by Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah students.
Himesadeja said the class focuses on Al-Quran memorisation to encourage interest in becoming an Al-Huffaz. – Rokiah Mahmud
Auto Makmur Sdn Bhd
Some 60 Vespa owners participated in a Raya ride from the showroom of Vespa distributor, Auto Makmur Sdn Bhd, in Beribi, Brunei-Muara District, to V-Plaza Hotel in the Belait District.
Auto Makmur Executive Director Pengiran Haji Abdul Qahar bin Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit was also in attendance.
Vespa owners group leader Mansur@Maisur bin Haji Kamis said, “The aim of the ride was to foster ties among Vespa enthusiasts and owners. We are in the process of setting up a Vespa owners’ club in the Sultanate.”

Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam
The Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam hosted a Hari Raya open house for Malaysian nationals in the country at its premises at the Diplomatic Enclave in Jalan Kebangsaan yesterday.
Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah and spouse Datin Roslina binti Haji Ismail, greeted attendees comprising prominent business figures, members of the Malaysian Association in Brunei Darussalam (PWM), Persatuan Kebajikan Melayu SeMalaysia (PKMS) and Malaysians residing in the Sultanate.
Guests were treated to Malaysian cuisine such as laksam, soto, satay, rendang and lontong. – Lyna Mohamad
