Jawi colouring contest winners show their colours

Bazirah Hafizah binti Omarali was named Category A winner of the Jawi Writing Colouring Competition themed ‘Sayangi Sejarah Kitani, organised by the Brunei History Centre’s Library and Learning Division in conjunction with the school holiday.

Second place went to Raabi’atul Adawiyyah, while third place went to Nur Aaiyatul Basyirah binti Haji Azimin.

Meanwhile, in Category B, Mohd Hasbul Hadi bin Haji Halus won first place, while sisters Nur Thaqebah ‘Alya binti Osmawadi and Nur Thaqebah Aufa binti Osmawadi came in second and third.

The competition was open to students aged five to eight in Category A and aged nine to 12 in Category B.

Participants were given an hour to complete the colouring of the jawi sketch.

Senior History Officer Mohd Shami bin Halimshah presented the prizes.

The competition aimed to offer interesting and entertaining activities during the school holidays based on history and heritage of the Sultanate.

The programme is held from September 5 to 8, featuring six educational activities.
