    Israk Mikraj celebrations continue

    Source of inspiration for educators

    The Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Curriculum Development Department and the Secretariat of National Education Council organised an Israk Mikraj celebration for 1446 Hijrah at the MoE’s new building yesterday.

    The event saw a talk by Senior Assistant Professor of Faculty of Usuluddin at the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College Dr Mikdar Rusdi on ‘Hikmah dan Pesan Peristiwa Israk dan Mikraj: Pengajaran Untuk Dunia Pendidikan’.

    It highlighted lessons and teachings from the Israk and Mikraj of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The ceremony is one of the ministry’s annual activities in commemorating the celebration of Islamic holidays as well as to strengthen bonds between officers and staff at the ministry.

    Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.

    The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led by Head of Islamic Education and Arabic Language of the Curriculum Development Department Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abdul Manaf. Permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments as well as officers and staff from the MoE were also present. – Fadhil Yunus

    Prayer and reflection

    The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) held a gathering to commemorate Israk Mikraj for 1446 Hijrah at the Law and Courts Building, Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha on Saturday.

    Siti Juhaidah binti Haji Bujang delivered a talk titled ‘Sembahyang Mencerdaskan Minda’.

    The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses from Al-Quran by Abdul Qawiyyel Azeez bin Haji Abdul Rajid. Attorney General Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib was the guest of honour.

    Solicitor General Hajah Zuraini binti Haji Sharbawi, AGC officers and staff were also present.

    The annual event is part of the AGC’s efforts to celebrate significant Islamic occasions while also strengthening camaraderie among its officers and staff. – Fadley Faisal

    Instilling spirit of appreciation for Islamic teachings

    Fairview School organised an Israk Mikraj celebration for 1446 Hijrah at the school on January 30.

    The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and the recitation of Surah Yaasiin.

    It proceeded with a video showing events of Israk Mikraj and an explanation by the school’s religious teacher Md Abdul Aiman ​bin Abdul Wahab.

    Year 3 to Year 6 students participated in a quiz, while Kindergarten 1-3, Year 1 and Year 2 students joined the Israk and Mikraj poster colouring competition, colouring markers and jawi writing competition. The event saw Fairview School Managing Director Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Ahmad bin Dato Paduka Matnor, the guest of honour, presenting prizes to the winners of the quiz and competitions.

    Fairview School Head of Administration Datin Paduka Hajah Fatimah binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Husain was also present.

    The event was held to commemorate Israk Mikraj event and instil a spirit of appreciation for Islamic teachings among the students.
