Intending umrah pilgrims briefed on rituals, practices

Some 120 intending umrah pilgrims attended a pre-departure briefing at Pengiran Anak Puteri Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School in Kampong Serusop yesterday.

The briefing highlighted the importance of staying hydrated in the hot weather in Madinah and Makkah, as well as the proper way to wear ihram, guidelines to perform tawaf, and obligatory laws and prohibitions.

The intending pilgrims, departing this and next month, will stay for five days in Madinah, visiting the sacred tomb of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Baqi cemetery, as well as historical sites such as Quba Mosque, Uhud hill, Qiblatain Mosque, Khandak Mosque and dates market.

Al-Hijrah Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd conducted the briefing.

Awangku Haji Md Afiq bin Pengiran Haji Suhaili delivered a talk on management. Education officer at the Counselling Unit at the Ministry of Education Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam presented umrah rituals and the practical aspect of tawaf and sa’ie.

In Makkah, the pilgrims will visit Thur hill, Arafah, Mina, Muzdalifah and Jabal Nur. They will also stay in and tour Jeddah before concluding. – Azlan Othman
