Instilling reading habit in the underprivileged

The Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) distributed story books to 110 underprivileged students in the Brunei-Muara District as part of its ‘Projek Buku Amal’.

MKM is working together with D’Bookhaus, to handover books to the needy in the Sultanate.

MKM President Yusof bin Halim said, “While there are many charitable projects in Brunei, there are still students without books in their homes, and this charity drive aims to change that.

“Back in 2019, during Ramadhan, we collaborated with D’Bookhaus and launched this project to instil a reading habit in students.”

Donors can purchase books from the bookshop and assign it to be distributed to an underprivileged student. Ten per cent of the proceeds will be chanelled to MKM to fund other charitable projects. – Fadley Faisal
