In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for its central campus schools, marking the completion of Quranic recitation by 500 students, according to a press release from the institute.
The event took place at Pengiran Muda Abdul Malik Mosque in Kampong Tungku.
The ceremony aimed to recognise students who successfully completed their Quranic reading while fostering a love for the Quran among them. It also sought to strengthen the culture of Quranic recitation within IBTE campuses, bringing blessings and spiritual well-being to the institution.
Six schools under IBTE Central Campus participated in the event, namely the School of Aviation, School of Hospitality & Tourism, School of Information & Communication Technology, School of Building Technology Services, School of Energy & Engineering Central, and the School of Business.

Acting Principal of IBTE Central Campus Armi Durani bin Haji Durhman, was the guest of honour and led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah to commence the ceremony. This was followed by the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiah by students from IBTE Mechanical Campus, as well as the recitation of Quranic verses from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad, led by Mohammad Hamizul Hazmi bin Mohaimi and Wazif Waziniddin. The Takhtim recitation was led by female religious teachers.
Dikir Marhaban was performed by male religious teachers, headed by Ustaz Saifulbahri bin Haji Ahmad. The ceremony concluded with a recitation of the Doa Peliharakan Sultan, led by Muhammad Danish Darwish bin Mohammad Nur Adenan from IBTE Business Campus.

Also in attendance were IBTE headquarters officials and staff.
The event served as a platform to celebrate students’ achievements in completing their Quranic recitation while raising awareness of the importance of Quranic studies in daily life. Additionally, it fostered unity, collaboration, and appreciation among students, teachers, and the IBTE community, recognising those who demonstrated dedication to learning the Quran.
